Orbital ATK was an aerospace and defence manufacturer. The company was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 2017 and was absorbed into a new division within the defence giant's portfolio, Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems in June 2018.
History
In February 2015 Orbital Sciences Corporation and Alliant Techsystems merged under the name Orbital ATK. All of the company’s launch vehicles are produced by Orbital ATK’s Flight Systems Group. The group offered three unique launch vehicles including their Antares rocket. The provider's launch vehicles were capable of launching small to medium payloads into various orbits.
The company also supplied commercial satellite platforms. Orbital ATK’s Space Systems Group produced small to medium class satellites for commercial, military and scientific customers from around the world. The company was able to outfit its satellite platforms for communications, imaging, science and national security space applications.
