LEGO Announce New NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander Set

LEGO has unveiled the new Creator Expert NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander set to commemorate the mission’s 50th anniversary.

The impending release of an Apollo 11 themed LEGO set was teased on the company’s official Twitter account on May 24. Today, the toy company released several promotional posts across social media and the product page for the new 1,087-piece commemorative NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander set.

Like the real Apollo 11 lander, the LEGO set is split into two sections: the descent stage and the ascent stage. The ascent stage has space for two minifigures and the descent stage has several compartments for storing equipment, including a LEGO version of the reflector that the Apollo 11 astronauts left on the surface of the Moon. The attention to detail on every inch of the set is striking with the set’s base, that acts as the lunar surface, even featuring craters and footsteps.

The NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander LEGO set is expected to go on sale on June 1 and will cost $99.99.
