The first trailers for the sequel to the critically acclaimed space flight simulation game Kerbal Space Program are here and they’re stunning.
Kerbal Space Program has become wildly popular since its initial launch in 2011. Over the years, the game has received a number of expansion packs, including the most recent which was released this past May, which added additional features for players to enjoy.
According to new developers Star Theory Games, Kerbal Space Program 2 hopes to expand the game features even further allowing players to, “build a space program, construct powerful spacecrafts, design resource-gathering colonies, and much more to uncover the secrets of the galaxy.” Once a player launches an in-game space program, they can choose to travel beyond Kerbal’s solar system, or even colonize the Mun with a troop of the iconic little green astronauts.
In addition to the range of new features and capabilities, the game will also include an improved tutorial for new players. Developers Star Theory were, however careful to assure players that they would not make the game easier. The significant challenge of creating and launching a rocket successfully has been a hallmark of the game.
Kerbal Space Program 2 is expected to launch on Steam in 2020. Following its initial release on Steam, it will also be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
